Easy 5 min Smoothie bowl

This smoothie bowl is creamy, thick, and have an ice-cream like consistency. Packed with fruits and nuts, it’s pack with vitamins.

Smoothies are the staple breakfast in our house.

They are easy, super healthy, fast, and most importantly, they are packed with vitamins and minerals.

What are smoothies

Smoothies are thick creamy beverages.  They are usually blended to create a milk shake style consistency.

My husband prefers a drinkable version where he blends all the ingredients together, but my favorite is a thicker version of a smoothie, aka, the smoothie bowl.

Smoothie bowls are creamy, thick, and have an ice-cream like deliciousness. Obviously, you serve them in a bowl, and you eat them with a spoon. To me, they are like dessert, and my favorite part are the toppings (fresh fruit, nuts, seeds, nut butters….)

How to make a smoothie bowl

I usually use mix of frozen and fresh fruits as my base.

Then, I add some liquid, my favorites are coconut water or nut milks.

I blend all of it in a high-speed blender.  My favorite blender is a Vitamix.

Finally, I add healthy toppings.

Why I love eating smoothies in the morning

As I mentioned previously, smoothies are packed with fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds.  Together, they provide an array of essential vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants.

They are an easy way to incorporate more healthy foods in your diet.

For me, starting the day with a smoothie is a little accomplishment, and that makes me feel good.

They are liquid so they are easy on your digestion.

It is quick and easy to make them.

After eating/drinking them, you’ll feel refreshed, awake, and ready for the rest of the day.  Believe me, your body will thank you for it.
